Dirtyhip Posted August 28, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 28, 2020 We keep going out there and taking dirt in buckets back to our home here. He wanted some for fill dirt and some for planting. Just got back with 6 more 5 gallon buckets of dirt. It is very nice dirt. Has some sand, so it breaks up nicely. The dirt at our current house is mostly clay, and it kinda icky to dig.

Doing some leveling and plan to plant grass. We are also potting up plants here, and get a little cheap. I don't like buying potting mix. We have some leftover perlite and mix the soil with that for the pots.

sheep_herder ★ Posted August 29, 2020 Share #12 Posted August 29, 2020 We've had a few folks come and get sheep manure in 5 gallon buckets, when they did not have a pu or could not easily drive to their garden spot.

donkpow Posted August 29, 2020 Share #14 Posted August 29, 2020 Helpful tip: To reduce disease, pests, and weeds from your homemade potting mix, place the mix in a black plastic bag in the sun for a week or so. 2
