Popular Post BuffJim Posted September 17, 2020 Popular Post Share #1 Posted September 17, 2020 If you thought @petitepedal bored you last weekend, just wait. Nary an orgy to be found on my trip to the Adirondack’s tonight. Definitely pumpkin spice weather on tap this weekend. 4 1

BuffJim Posted September 18, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted September 18, 2020 Made it to the hotel in Rome. Naturally they’re not showing the Browns game. Tomorrow I head into the mountains. Have 4 days of hiking and birdwatching planned. Tomorrow is Moss Lake trail near Old Forge NY. Then off to Lake Placid. 1 1

Longjohn ★ Posted September 18, 2020 Share #5 Posted September 18, 2020 It should have been easy to find your motel because everyone knows all roads lead to Rome. 1 1

So real estate prices must be very high there because of that little advantage. Unless it gets so crowded that nobody goes there anymore. 1
BuffJim Posted September 18, 2020 Author Share #7 Posted September 18, 2020 Sunrise View from my hotel window. When you drop $90 for a hotel room, you should get a great view. Adventure awaits.

We had fabulous dinners there while on the bike trip.

Friday morning free breakfast at the motel was one of the worst meals ever. Getting decent food in Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. Having a couple beers here before hitting the Redneck Bistro for bbq. 2
BuffJim Posted September 20, 2020 Author Share #16 Posted September 20, 2020 Breakfast at the Hippie Dippie diner in Saranac Lake. Actually it’s called the Blue Moon Cafe. Then hiking at Paul Smith’s and onto my parents. Hope the Bills game is on there. It all depends on where there CBS affiliate is from.

Drive a little further west from Moss Lake and you can do the Stillwater Mt. fire tower. Only a mile hike up but great views.
BuffJim Posted September 21, 2020 Author Share #18 Posted September 21, 2020 Last day of trip. Leaving my parents. Headed to Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. Then on home. Sunrise at my parents backyard.
BuffJim Posted September 21, 2020 Author Share #19 Posted September 21, 2020 A few minutes later. Smells of Folgers wafting through the house. Growing up we were strictly a Maxwell House. Somewhere over the years they switched to Folgers. In between were some years of fancy stuff, Jamaica Blue Mountain and Hawaii Kona coffee. 1

My mom used to be, but probably goes about 4’10” now.
