Allen ★ Posted September 28, 2020 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2020 They have to be white; no prints, just white. Pillow cases too. Unless they are flannel, then I like stripes. Bath towels can be any color, so long as they are solid.
Mr. Silly Posted September 28, 2020 Share #2 Posted September 28, 2020 You could not be more wrong. The only requirement for sheets is they MUST have a high thread count.
Airehead Posted September 28, 2020 Share #3 Posted September 28, 2020 White and cotton and good quality. Worth the investment and will last for years.
Allen ★ Posted September 28, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted September 28, 2020 My LL Bean catalog came in today. I decided it is time for some new sheets.
Ralphie ★ Posted September 28, 2020 Share #5 Posted September 28, 2020 I sort of miss flannel sheets in the winter. We haven’t had those for years. Of course it is easier just to don flannel pjs.
Longjohn ★ Posted September 28, 2020 Share #6 Posted September 28, 2020 I bought a bunch of fitted white hospital bed sheets that are a pita. The ambulance crew scooped up my wife from her hospital bed sheets and all. The fitted sheet they snagged from the hospital is awesome. I need more like that. You really can’t see what you are getting when you buy sheets until you get them home and open the package.
Dottleshead ★ Posted September 28, 2020 Share #7 Posted September 28, 2020 The only problem with white sheets is this issue. The other night I slept nude and then slipped out of bed while sleeping on my back. Apparently my butt crack came in contact with the side of the mattress and left a nice cinnamon streak on them. It looked like a poor man's version of cookies and cream. Now I have to wash them. Or not. 1 1
Allen ★ Posted September 28, 2020 Author Share #8 Posted September 28, 2020 The best thing I have encountered in sheets (besides thread count) were labels on the bottom sheet: side, top or bottom. You never had problems figuring out which way to orientate the thing. 1

High threat count is now misleading with the popularity of the cheap microfiber sheets. True with dealing with cotton - 600-800 thread count is preferred. But these polyester based microfibers will be in the 1500+ thread count. Also with the polyester sheets being 1/4 the price of cotton, people will see the thread count an think this must be good. We did put some on the guest bed and is not that bad...but nowhere near Egyptian cotton.

Plain white sheets, green wool blanket & dust cover with white towels. Remember to get your shower shoes and ivory soap at the PX! 😁 1
sheep_herder ★ Posted September 28, 2020 Share #11 Posted September 28, 2020 When I hit the bed or couch, my eyes are closed and colors/patterns are of no concern to me. Things like this have never mattered to me. 3
shootingstar Posted September 28, 2020 Share #12 Posted September 28, 2020 hmmm...For sure I like plain colour bed sheets. I was never keen on flannel sheets. I totally agree with high thread count. It's amazing how much we move in our sleep/dreams and wear out the material. No, not white...it's just tougher to get stains out. Yes, well once upon a time, once a month sleeping on top of a red towel. I'll let you figure it out...what some women go through in certain decades of their lives. It's a tremendous relief when ..it's over. Our bedsheet set colours-- solid..deeper orange. Yea, no kiddin. Then another place, it's solid maroon red. Each with nice floral duvet, matching colours, etc.
ChrisL Posted September 29, 2020 Share #13 Posted September 29, 2020 My wife likes color on things like our dinner wear, sheets & curtains. All of our sheets either have color or patterns. I have zero input nor care about this stuff. 2
Kirby Posted September 29, 2020 Share #14 Posted September 29, 2020 My sheets are all solid, but I like colors. Lighter colors are ok in the summer and spring, but I like deep, darker colors in fall and winter. At the momenty, my sheets are a deep teal color. smudge ★ Posted September 29, 2020 Share #15 Posted September 29, 2020 I love my sheets so much I bought a spare set. Got em at Shopko. 300 thread count? (I know, right?!) White with black and blue stripes north/south. They look and feel like a lightweight casual button down shirt. I love snuggling in my sheets. 1
