Airehead Posted October 19, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 19, 2020 What do you think when you wake up and hear rain outside? Does it vary by season? Today, I thought that it was dark and rainy and I did not want to get up. 1
bikeman564™ Posted October 19, 2020 Share #2 Posted October 19, 2020 Summer or warm rain is nice then I can sit on my deck and drink coffee. I enjoy the scent of rain. Now its damp and dreary

Kirby Posted October 19, 2020 Share #4 Posted October 19, 2020 If I have plans that are outdoor related, or if it's a super busy day, it's not so great. But if I can relax I sort of like rain. I love hearing the sound of rain while I sleep and rain sort of gives permission to relax and not race around doing chores.
Scrapr ★ Posted October 19, 2020 Share #5 Posted October 19, 2020 my first thought while working is .....crap. Today is going to suck. But that is mostly on the shoulder seasons. After a while (January) you get used to it. I hate it when our dispatch is happening & it's pouring. Then you know it's going to be a suck day
Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted October 19, 2020 Share #6 Posted October 19, 2020 I like the sound of rain. Going to sleep, waking up, it all sounds relaxing as Kirby said. I love watching summer thunderstorms from a covered porch too. Great experience 1
Parr8hed Posted October 19, 2020 Share #7 Posted October 19, 2020 We are either driving home early or sitting in the rain watching softball all day. Yesterday it was sitting in the rain.

Airehead Posted October 19, 2020 Author Share #9 Posted October 19, 2020 Softball in the rain doesn't sound like fun for the spectators. @Parr8hed do you have one of these?

There were quite a few of those out this weekend. Usually we take a big tent canopy and put a tarp up on one side to block wind. We have some little propane heaters that we can put in it. I just didn't bring this weekend because I thought it wasn't supposed to rain.
jsharr ★ Posted October 19, 2020 Share #11 Posted October 19, 2020 When I was a kid in Oklahoma, my parents had a travel trailer that had been converted into a lake cabin. Up on blocks, room built on and a deck. Nothing fancy, but a great place to get away and relax. I loved hearing rain on the metal roof of that trailer. It would put me right to sleep. I still like lying in bed listening to a gentle rain. Spent way too many rainy days on a boat dock. Uninsulated metal roofing with the rain drumming on it and the wind blowing was not as fun.
az_cyclist Posted October 19, 2020 Share #12 Posted October 19, 2020 it is pretty unusual for me to wake up to rain, and if I do, the rain is usually spotty. very rarely is it raining over most of the Valley. My first thought is, no bike ride today.
Square Wheels Posted October 19, 2020 Share #13 Posted October 19, 2020 Depends. That will likely mean I am riding in the basement if I had planned to run. My walk to work is about a mile, so I guess I'll be getting wet.
ChrisL Posted October 19, 2020 Share #14 Posted October 19, 2020 It’s weird for me. I used to work out in the elements but have been an indoor dude for decades now. But when I hear the rain, I think damn it’s gonna suck being out in it. But then I realize I won’t be out in it so I don’t care...
