Why does the porridge bird lay it's egg in the air?

It's an evolutionary adaptation that has developed over millions of years. For centuries the porridge birds had their eggs made into porridge omelets by the Neanderthals.  Laying their eggs in the air saves their eggs from becoming our breakfast.

We?  Collectively???  I think you were in the corner touching yourself while posting to the "Bikini Appreciation" thread when everyone else developed warp drive.

I think we should have a Nobel prize for bikini appreciation, and it should come with a sizable award.
