Popular Post Longjohn ★ Posted January 11, 2021 Popular Post Share #1 Posted January 11, 2021 This is the first time I can remember that she hasn’t had the TV on at all. I started the morning with the livestream of our church’s early service. Then live-streamed my son’s church but he wasn’t there. I learned at the end of the service that someone at another church died and he was filling in for them. Then I put on the service at Bethel Church Cleveland where our friend Allison just became the worship leader. Of the three services Allison’s was best. Several times today I asked my wife if she wanted to watch TV. She said no. She did finally eat a half bowl of soup. 4

MickinMD ★ Posted January 11, 2021 Share #3 Posted January 11, 2021 I hope she feels better. Have you given her any morphine recently? Is there any withdrawal if she then doesn't have it for a while? Sending all vibes and prayers your way!

Popular Post Longjohn ★ Posted January 11, 2021 Author Popular Post Share #12 Posted January 11, 2021 Just had a nursing visit and our aide visit. They checked her over and gave her some morphine and are calling in a prescription for a different antibiotic for her UTI. She ate half an egg and a quarter piece of toast this morning. This isn’t easy. 6

There is so much Covid around now it would be difficult to even find a place that would take her. Our nurse that just left said he had five covid patients die last week.

Without a doubt, you amaze us with your strength and love. Neither make it easier for you, but you show us a shining example of what "a good person" looks like. In "normal" times, I would encourage the use of a care facility, but with COVID, I would avoid at all costs the possibility of being unable to be at my wife's side during such a difficult time. It's tougher doing it at home - no breaks ever - but seems to be a huge comfort for her. I'm sorry it is so tough but, as ever, you are showing us a graceful way to handle a part of life that some/most of us will likely see at some point in our lives.

TrentonMakes Posted January 11, 2021 Share #17 Posted January 11, 2021 John - even though i haven't posted much lately you have been in my thoughts... i was hoping to see things were improving and I'm sorry that they're not. As others have said, it is touching to see how you take care of your wife and do what you can to make her feel better. Vibes and prayers to you, and i wish you the strength to stay the course.

Longjohn ★ Posted January 11, 2021 Author Share #22 Posted January 11, 2021 The nurse just called to see if the medication had been delivered yet. My wife woke up when she heard me talking. After the phone call I asked my wife if she wanted some dinner. She asked my why I had all the lights turned out. The lights are all on. I hope this is temporary. 4

Popular Post Longjohn ★ Posted January 12, 2021 Author Popular Post Share #28 Posted January 12, 2021 Yay, The new meds were just delivered and the delivery guy knocked real loud on the door. It woke my wife up and she could see me and was hungry. She had a bowl of soup and some crackers and a glass of lemonade. She had trouble with the spoon so I fed her the soup. Thanks for all the prayers today, keep up the good work. She actually talked with me for awhile and gave me a smile. 5 4
