Popular Post Randomguy Posted January 14, 2021 Popular Post Share #1 Posted January 14, 2021 So, I ordered a bunch of stuff on Amazon yesterday, and some of it was supposed to come today. It did come today, I picked it up downstairs. It was supposed to have four items, but instead I have a tiny package (that's what she said), and in it is nothing I ordered. It is two sets of shoelaces that look kinda like nothing I would ever buy. I look at the tracking and order info on the package, and sure enough, it was supposed to be my order. I call Amazon and let them know and ask what to do. A super-nice guy says "sorry for the mix-up, I will cancel those items and refund your card". He says they can't just send it all out again, I have to go back and order it up fresh. I can also keep the shoelaces if I am into them. 3 - 5 days on the refund. I order the same items again, about $70, then I have to run some errands. I come back from my errand-running, and there is ANOTHER package, again with my info, and this time it IS my stuff that I ordered. One of the items leaked and made things a bit gushy, but it was mostly ok and everything is fine, except for the leaked stuff. I went online and cancelled the newly reordered items, and then called back Amazon and let them know they can stop the refund (but could they please replace the item with the leaky and partially unscrewed cap). I explained all to a nice woman, and after a bit of an extended hold, the nice chick came back and said that they appreciated my calling in and telling them about the situation. She also said the refund process was started and it couldn't be cancelled and that I could just keep or dispose of the items in the shipment, but the refund was all mine regardless. So I got the items AND the refund! Yay! I just had to gush a bit. 4
maddmaxx ★ Posted January 14, 2021 Share #2 Posted January 14, 2021 A lot of places are starting the "keep the stuff" refund concept.......but they do keep track to see if you do it too often. Then Arnold and Guido knock on your door.
Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted January 14, 2021 Share #3 Posted January 14, 2021 That's pretty cool! It's great that Amazon was so accommodating. I think I'll try your system on my next Amazon order too! 1

Kirby Posted January 14, 2021 Share #5 Posted January 14, 2021 If they had stricter refund policies, Bezos could be the #1 richest guy again.
