Ralphie ★ Posted January 16, 2021 Share #4 Posted January 16, 2021 As far as dark beers, I am a little disappointed in Troeg's Javahead Stout. But Deschutes Black Butte Porter is as good as I expected.

Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald is very tasty with hints of coffee and chocolate, although I don't think they add anything to it.
Further Posted January 16, 2021 Share #9 Posted January 16, 2021 I lightened things up a bit tonight with some Stella Artois. Never tried before, for some reason I thought it was a Zima type concoction. I like it. Good beer flavor, nice mouth feel, not too sweet, balanced.

I stock it for the daughters and wife as a cheaper choice than Allagash White.

Love that style - the perfect blend of caramel and hoppiness.
