JerrySTL ★ Posted January 17, 2021 Share #6 Posted January 17, 2021 I need a tree stump pulled out of my yard. With those gears and tires, you should be able to do it. 1
ChrisL Posted January 17, 2021 Share #7 Posted January 17, 2021 Seats too low... 😁. How come a dropper on the fattie? To help mount/dismount when loaded? Really sweet ride, I know you will ride it lots. So many new bikes lately, I’m happy for you guys.

Some descents are steep and tricky. The bike is so light, I'll probably ride it this summer on singletrack. I might bikepack with it too.
Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted January 17, 2021 Share #9 Posted January 17, 2021 That's a beautiful bike! I think, though, you might ride a bit faster if replace that cloth-covered kickstand you're now using with one like SW had on his bike.

Popular Post dinneR ★ Posted January 17, 2021 Author Popular Post Share #12 Posted January 17, 2021 No kickstand or streamers but I added big mittens. This bike is a game changer. It rides like a mountain bike. It was so much fun to ride. I had zero knee pain. It's light and climbs really well. I'm glad I added the dropper post. It gave me some stability on the descents. Shimano is awesome. I love the ergonomics of the shifter. XT brakes are the bomb. The trails were pretty buff today so I flew around. I do plan to put a bigger tire up front. I think 4.8 Jumbo, Jumbo Jim. And @ChrisL was right. The seat was too low. Fixed. 3
Razors Edge ★ Posted January 18, 2021 Share #13 Posted January 18, 2021 What was wrong with the old bike? Is this the lower Q-factor one? I like the "I had zero knee pain" comment, but I also wonder if that meant you usually had knee pain? Looking forward to seeing that bike in various adventure photos over the next few months! My old one has a much wider q-factor. It causes knee pain. I thought I could deal with it. I finally decided to bite the bullet and upgrade. So far, I'm happy I did. This bike is so much fun to ride. It's nimble like a mt bike. It also weighs about 6 lbs less than my old bike which makes climbing much easier. The downside is tire clearance. The low q-factor has a max tire clearance of 4.2 in the frame. I'm going to run a bigger tire up front.

Voytek is named for this bear.
