Do you like to stay in hotels? NSFW

Yes.  On contract jobs you have little choice so you might as well learn to like it.  My favorite was not quite a hotel but was a Residence Inn during the job in Orlando.  I have stayed in hotels however that were so good you never had to go out.  Good food, good gym, good rooms etc.

My favorite hands down (I only got to stay one night) was the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.  I could have stayed there for years.  I couldn't even afford one night there like we had but it was all comped.

Damn, there are times I wish I was filthy rich.

I don't mind it.

I don't much any more, but the job I had in 2012-2013 involved travel. If they hadn't made the job so stressful by lack of training and pressure to do the work of two people, the travel would have been a lot of fun.

I enjoyed the Hilton Garden Inns as a good place at not an insane price. Well, other than the Manhattan one; two nights there was more than one of my mortgage payments.

Wasn't there a movie with that hotel as a backdrop??

I would become tired to have a job that was over 50% hotel stay. I would start to worry about my health...I know what I am like on work expense meals....

That said, I've appreciated most of hotels ...every few years..once annually for work conferences. But then, I was usually exhausted from being at the conference.. to enjoy hotel properly.

1. In Kyoto, Japan, at a hotel which had a handy shuttle to train station 5 km. away, we made damn sure we had our entitled, free wine drinks and snacks late afternoon in a reading lounge. Of course, we didn't know about this perk when booking.   For 3 consecutive days, it was a nice free bonus. We didn't bring our bikes. (Kyoto has crappy choices for bike rentals...which was surprising.)

2.  For bike trips and alot of foreign trips together, I am the person who hunts down places to overnight.  So in Rotenburg au Taber in Germany, I chose a medieval bed 'n breakfast inn that had been renovated twice.   It's been around since 1400's.  Despite all the Internet photos....we were unprepared for what we experienced. You just don't know even it's a town of 5,000 people or so.

It was great...overlooking the historic town square.... within the hotel itself, 3 restaurants with a German stube/aka pub downstairs. Breakfast was a knockout buffet...that stunned us. It was all included in room price.  Cheeses, cold cuts, even liver pate, breads, sausages, yaddayadda...and even several cake multi-torte slices to choose. For breakfast.   Dearie was surprised..

Beside the hotel was a well-preserved medieval-Rennaissance church with wood carved altar, etc.

And more hotel, inn, b 'n b stories...cycling trip oriented.  The best bed 'n breakfast experiences tend to be new owners...who just recently renovated their place and into their business for 1 yr. or so. They usually want to provide a good stay.,

I don't think @maddmaxx, @shootingstar, or @LoneWolf watched the video.

Shooting Star.  The most recent movie was Crazy Rich Asians which is mostly filmed in Singapore and at the Marina Bay Sands.  The Sands is more than just a hotel.  It is a collection of fine restaurants, shopping and contains a casino.

When the movie first came out we asked oldest son if he had seen it.  "Seen it......I lived it".
