Ralphie ★ Posted January 24, 2021 Share #2 Posted January 24, 2021 Horace Silver? Horace Horatio Humphrey? Oh wait, that was Herbert Humphrey. At least according to Pat Paulsen. Pat was good at deadpan. What modern comic uses deadpan? Any? Is it a lost art? Or just way oot of style? So many questions! Ben Stein? Wikipedia totally redeems itself! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deadpan_comedians

We have a huge population of idiots doing just as Horace recommended I don't like calling folks "dumb" or "stupid", but man, that Gump quote - "Stupid is as stupid does" - is spot on. So, as ever, either IB is just providing predictably crappy quotes, OR IB is providing a quote out-of-context and with a lack of detail that makes it downright foolish, rather than inspiring or wise. Be that as it may, SW is right that IB posts are amongst those with the most replies.
