Some Old Guy Posted January 28, 2021 Share #7 Posted January 28, 2021 She was 94. She had a good long run. All the ladies from the MTM show are now gone, except for Betty White. 1

Wow, that is weird! When did MTM die? Brb! Hmm, her and Valerie Harper both died at 80, in 2017 and 2019. Rose Marie also died fairly recently, in 2017, but unlike them, she was ancient. She was 94, same as Cloris.

Ralphie ★ Posted January 28, 2021 Share #11 Posted January 28, 2021 This got me started on a Lassie rabbit hole. Ran 17 years! I need to do more digging later. That was a big part of my fambly’s Sunday night for quite a few years.

Apparently only part of a season then replaced by June Lockhart. Reading her 'early career' on Wikipedia, surprised she wasn't labeled as unreliable within the industry and avoided. While initially a backup/replacement, the two Broadway bound productions, leaving before hit Broadway. The in Shakespeare's As You Like It, but left on opening night and signs had to be posted at the box office correcting the billing. Leaving Lassie was also by her decision as she "she didn't see the role as challenging when realized all she would be doing is baking cookies" and wanted out. Despite all that went on with a phenominal career. https://youtu.be/x8Wbk1uOhLs EDIT NOTE: The link is to Lassie, but got an error message when posting the YouTube does mot allow embedding of the link...so simply posted as a link. MickinMD ★ Posted January 28, 2021 Share #15 Posted January 28, 2021 If I was going to name the 10 greatest actors I've ever seen, Cloris Leachman would be high on the list. She could, and did, play vitually every kind of female role. RIP, Cloris.

groupw Posted January 28, 2021 Share #18 Posted January 28, 2021 I remember seeing her in a couple dramatic parts. One, it took me most of the movie to realize it was her because even though she looked familiar, the part was so different for her from what I was used to.
