Popular Post MoseySusan ★ Posted August 17, 2014 Popular Post Share #1 Posted August 17, 2014 #2 son's transfer to the high school where I work went through on Friday. Tomorrow we withdraw from his current school and register at my school. He's excited, and I'm glad we're at the same site each day, especially since this is his senior year. His teacher for the last three years has retired, so he'd have to make the big transition to a new teacher anyway. I applied for an opening in the English department at his current school, but they didn't even call me for an interview. Their loss! One thing I'm sad about, though, is the choir teacher had based her Master's work on her inclusion program and #2 son was her specific case study. She had been planning something special for his Senior honors at the end of the year banquet. I'm going to bring her a bouquet of flowers.
Square Wheels Posted August 18, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 18, 2014 I don't know you or your son's situation, but you sound pleaded with this outcome so that makes me happy.
MoseySusan ★ Posted August 18, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted August 18, 2014 I had posted a thread in the *other* forum about how he broke the kitchen window after school one day. We had been allowing him to be at home alone for a couple of hours after school. He makes himself some ramen noodles and watches movies or YouTube videos. One day he broke the kitchen window and a lower cupboard door because when he hears dogs barking he seriously freaks out. That was when we decided he cannot be alone for very long after school. When I worked at a middle school with one subject to prepare and 3/4 of a mile from home, I could get here within half an hour of him arriving home. But now that I'm at a high school further away and with three classes to prepare, I need more time after work to plan. Transferring him to my high school means he'll be supervised, he can still make ramen noodles in the hot pot in my classroom, and I can get my work done.

MoseySusan ★ Posted August 19, 2014 Author Share #10 Posted August 19, 2014 That sounds much easier on you. Awesome. You need to get him a nerf gun to assemble and disassemble. He has two of them now, thanks to the influence of your mercenaries-in-training.
