Popular Post BuffJim Posted February 8, 2021 Popular Post Share #1 Posted February 8, 2021 I’m afraid I’m about to enter another medical ordeal. Can’t catch my breath. Woke up around 2:30. Dozed a bit from 4:30 til now. It’s not extreme but it’s not good. My cough is pretty dry and non productive. I don’t have a pulse ox meter. It was pretty bad after shoveling yesterday. 6

Popular Post Longjohn ★ Posted February 8, 2021 Popular Post Share #6 Posted February 8, 2021 You should pick up one of those oximeters. They really help monitor your condition. I bought one to check my wife. She only has two nursing visits a week. She can go for a month without added oxygen and then out of nowhere it drops. I hook up her oxygen and it brings her right back to where it should be. In this weather her oxygen generator helps keep the room warm too. Those suckers put off a lot of heat. 5

It's hard work, but if you slow down and pace yourself, it can be an excellent cardio exercise. Just don't overdo it. Unless you have a bad back. Then avoid it at all costs.
Longjohn ★ Posted February 8, 2021 Share #18 Posted February 8, 2021 I bought a snow blower just shy of the width of the wheel chair ramp. We don’t use the wheel chair anymore but that ramp is a lot easier to remove snow from than the steps that are under it.

MickinMD ★ Posted February 8, 2021 Share #21 Posted February 8, 2021 If I don't do a 2-3 mile walk a couple days/week, I find myself breathing a little heavy when working around the house and moving/lifting a lot of stuff. My doctor says it's a matter of getting into better shape - and losing weight.

BuffJim Posted February 8, 2021 Author Share #32 Posted February 8, 2021 I got a text from my pharmacy that I have a prescription ready. It’s 44 cents, and starts with PRE. So I’m guessing the Doctor called in a course of Prednisone. We’ve used it in the past with some success. I also keep a prescription of Azithromyacin on hand in case it feels infected. 2

Or to clear you to come to the office? I thought it was the later. Oh well, I’m hoping your feeling better by the time you read this.

Gonna start the course of Prednisone today. If I don’t get worse, I’ll probably just keep my regular appointment in a few weeks.

Kirby Posted February 9, 2021 Share #44 Posted February 9, 2021 Glad you're feeling better and glad you have a doctor that can get you the medicine you need promptly. But I'm glad you also are getting checked out and don't assume there might not be other factors at play.
