Popular Post Longjohn ★ Posted February 13, 2021 Popular Post Share #1 Posted February 13, 2021 My wife isn’t well, she sleeps a lot. My feral cat now my new house cat sleeps 20+ hours a day. He went somewhere last night before I went to bed. Didn’t see him again until noon. My wife always had the tv on up until about three weeks ago. Now she doesn’t even turn it on to sleep to it. She was in a good mood this morning when the murse and the aide were here. The murse had her smiling a lot. I like to see her smile. She has been sleeping ever since the murse left all except when I fed her lunch after I got back from getting shot and after bringing in firewood. I watched the sunset while I was feeding her lunch. Our schedule is all mixed up but it doesn’t make any difference to me. It was nice to get away for awhile today. My wife slept the whole time I was gone. 3 1
Ralphie ★ Posted February 13, 2021 Share #2 Posted February 13, 2021 I think Kirby would approve of a sleepy house. Ruby is a sleepaholic too. 20 hours sounds aboot right! 1
Airehead Posted February 13, 2021 Share #3 Posted February 13, 2021 Is the temp in the house 87? Wood heat makes me sleepy. 3

That’s probably about the average temp. I don’t throttle down the air intake since the carbon monoxide scare. I don’t want to have to go on the snow covered steel roof again to clean the chimney. 1

Yeah, make sure the CO detectors are working! 2

Popular Post Longjohn ★ Posted February 13, 2021 Author Popular Post Share #9 Posted February 13, 2021 So Oreo starts looking for a good place to sleep as I start turning out the lights. My wife has her feet elevated. The mechanism that raises her feet is like a scissor jack. Oreo climbs through the open scissor and lies down under Esther’s hospital bed. I told Esther if she puts her feet down she may hear a screaming cat. I think the cat hears me. He climbed out of the bed and went over and settled in next to my recliner. I wish my cat could talk, he seems to understand everything I say. 2 1
Longjohn ★ Posted February 13, 2021 Author Share #10 Posted February 13, 2021 Oreo slept all night by my chair. When I came out of the bedroom this morning he was still there. He got up and came over to greet me. I put on nitrile gloves and sat on the floor and scritched his back. His ears are still nasty but getting better. They are starting to itch and he kept trying to get me to scratch his ears (that’s why the gloves) I scratched his head and all around his ears but didn’t really touch the nasty part. He was purring so loud he sounded like he had an outboard motor running. He is eating his breakfast now. Some dry crunchy cat food with a can of LOL cat food dumped on top. Somebody with cats must have sent that, he loves it. I never even heard of it before.

His paws have sharp claws and would just do more damage. I at some point need to get him to a vet but his immediate problem with his ears is getting better. I want to get him checked over, get all his shots and get his brain surgery. I think our vet retired, I can’t be spending a lot of time driving a cat to doctor appointments. I’m going to try to wait until my wife no longer needs me here.
Kzoo Posted February 13, 2021 Share #13 Posted February 13, 2021 I'd say take care of his ears and then some wormer.

I have been giving him wormer on a regular basis for a couple years. I don’t know if he had worms but feral cats eat whatever they find sometimes. He caught a lot of field mice and moles.
