The neighbor across the street, when I was a kid, built a 30" high cinder block wall facing the street at the sidewalk so he could level his sloping front yard. We used to pitch to blocks on the wall on it with rubber balls. Every once in a while, a ball would go low, hit the edge of the sidewalk in front of the wall, and bounce into his yard. Sometimes there'd be 5 of us at a time pitching to the wall. I don't know how we never hit his picture window! He was a nice guy and had three kids we were friends with. My sister helped his daughter become a nurse.

az_cyclist Posted February 24, 2021 Share #13 Posted February 24, 2021 I had one. Grew up on a farm in western Indiana, and no other kids close by to play ball.

BuffJim Posted February 24, 2021 Share #15 Posted February 24, 2021 We had a Corvair for a couple years. I thought it was the coolest thing. Then in 1976 my dad bought a 1975 Triumph TR-6. He just sold it to my youngest brother a couple years ago
Square Wheels Posted February 27, 2021 Share #16 Posted February 27, 2021 I threw my baseball against the fireplace (outside). Missed a couple of times and dented the inexpensive siding.
