I never had these problems before I started taking statins. They brought my cholesterol numbers down into the perfect zone and that’s when the heart attacks started. I have heard some doctors who believe it’s not the cholesterol that is the problem.

Oh great! So what do they believe to be the problem??

I am sorry that this is being dragged out, but it sounds like they had good reasons for the delay and I'm glad they're being careful with the procedures.

That is like being in the ER with a relatively minor or actually stable condition - almost everyone who comes in after you bumps ahead of you so you start feeling like you will be there forever!

It’s best to be dripping blood on the floor or having chest pains when entering the emergency room.

The time I walked in looking like this I didn’t have to go through the scanner or get patted down, or take a seat in the waiting room. I was taken straight to an exam room and carted off to cat scan and X-ray.

The funny thing is the head injury got me express service but it was just a flesh wound. The broken clavicle and broken scapula were the more serious injuries.

I had a dislocated finger years ago that put me to the head of the line, I was seeing a doctor before they even did paper work. I tried to explain that I had driven myself to the hospital and really didn't feel that bad, but they stuck me in a wheel chair and straight to treatment.

My best ER service ever was when I had road rash and a broken rib. Checked my urine for blood in case my kidneys got punctured, did an X-ray, cleaned the road rash, and sent me on my way with no waiting atoll. I think I just got lucky with no or few other
people waiting.

I also sailed right through when I had bloody urine from a sudden UTI. Man, it looked terrible!  As soon as I saw that it was “I need to go to the ER.”

My sister was a Johns Hopkins Hospital Research Master Nurse when my family doctor prescribed statins even though my cholesterol was very low without it - one day, they'll dig up my father's and my bones to check our DNA and find out why we could have bad diets but perfect cholesterol, including good and bad.

But supposedly statins are good for type-II diabetics regardless of whether they need it or not.  But my sister told me not to take the statins because they're responsible for other problems.  I stopped taking them.

Stupid hospitals that can’t get along. They told me yesterday that they were going to talk with my oncologist to make sure she was on board with this procedure. Now they say the two hospittle systems can’t work together so they are bringing in a hematologist I’ve never met to help make the decision.

your own oncologist should be key.  I would call here office on Monday.  Maybe move to different hospital>?  Or at least talk it through with a doc who knows you--- I read stuff about Sharon online and it does seem like they have top notch heart specialists

Another fun adventure, my arm that they used for 20 blood draws and the first catheterization was hurting. I looked at it and it was red and swollen almost twice it’s size. I called the nurse. She removed the bandages and went and found my doctor. He said it wasn’t from his work but from the 20+ blood draws and pressure  bandages. He had the nurse put hot compresses on it a few hours ago and the swelling went down almost to normal.

I'm embarrassed to say they are in the same profession as I am.  I am so very sorry for all this, LJ. I sure hope the end result is just stents and clear sailing.

My roommate complained that he has been having nightmares. I thought I was having a nightmare and then I realized I was awake and this is real.

If they expect you to be there more than one more night, you tell them you need a different room. That is ridiculously unfair. At the very least call the nurse once that guy falls a sleep and tell her to turn off his TV.

I found out I’m not even in the coronary unit. The girl drawing blood said this is a catch all floor for everyone they don’t have room for in the proper department. I’ve had the stickers on my chest for my heart monitor come off and nobody notices. This place is a nightmare.

Saw you were the last post in the thread and I was hoping for a good update.  Sorry to hear all the complications and hope you are able to get the procedure done today.   But Clark is right in that it's a good thing not to be the highest priority for surgery.  Keeping good thoughts and hoping for good news.

Dorcas, my cardiac nurse said I have a large hematoma at the entry site from Friday. She says it will need manual compression which unfortunately will be very painful. I. Asked if I can have drugs. She said she will do it while I am already drugged up for today’s procedure .
