Popular Post BuffJim Posted March 1, 2021 Popular Post Share #1 Posted March 1, 2021 March’s goal is to make an appointment with a lawyer to create a will. My last one was written for a single dad with a teenage daughter. BuffCarla has never had one. It’s time. 5

Some Old Guy Posted March 1, 2021 Share #8 Posted March 1, 2021 If you want everything to go to your spouse, you don't really need a will.

I dealt with both my father's and my mother's estates when they passed. Neither had a will. Everything went to my mother when my dad died. When my mother died, everything was split evenly among the three sons. But there is certainly nothing wrong with having a will and probably makes things easier for most folks, even if it is a simple "leave everything to the spouse" type will. However, as long as it is a spouse or, if no spouse, just the children thing, getting a will drawn up is certainly not a panic situation.

It can however help in clearing probate quickly. Unless everything is in a joint account, even things like who has access to a safety deposit box can be problematical.
