Clean out the race trailer and get things ready for next Thursday.

On Thursday we will be traveling to Georgia for a few days and then to South Carolina for our first race of the year.

Drum circle under the stars this evening. Pulling down the MTBs tomorrow to get them ready for a ride. Have a coworker who used to ride and is interested in trying some of the trails around here.  So, going to loan him a bike and head out.  Church on Sunday.

I am taking BuffCarla to Batavia tomorrow where she’s meeting work friends for lunch at the Casino. It’s almost an hour drive and she’d rather I drive it. So I’ll spend a small chunk of my bonus there while they gab.

Rest of weekend is devoted to spending the rest of my bonus which came in today. Actually, 3/4 of the net bonus is going to savings, charity and vacation. 1/4 is left as play money, some of which BuffCarla gets.

@Digital_photog should be skipping thru Batavia tomorrow.  Maybe he could stop and buy you lunch.

Going to C.Falls where I grew up to visit my Aunt Kathy. She fell a few weeks ago and totally messed up her elbow. Had surgery a couple weeks ago. I'll bake a blueberry pie to give her and Uncle Jim. Antioxidants are good for healing, right?  :D

C.Falls?

Supposed to be great weather but increasing winds.
Saturday - road bike ride and Miata time.
Sunday - need to replace a thermostat in a car.
WoW may be spending some quality time with a coworker one of the days. May cause a little bit of plan changing. She bought a sous vide machine so we may mess with that a bit as well.

I've got a free weekend because I got my grocery shopping for a couple weeks out of the way today, Friday - all in one uncrowded supermarket with excellent sales on a lot of stuff I wanted and also picked up my next 28 days worth of Freestyle Libre blood glucose sensors that Medicare pays for at one pharmacy medicare allows to handle it and two 90-day blood pressure prescriptions at another CVS, required for 90-day scripts by my BCBS insurance.

My blood glucose has been looking good with my more-fresh-veggies, lower-carbs diet, so I treated myself to a pint of Ben & Jerry's Phish Food Ice Cream. I may eat half of that this weekend.

This weekend I'm reviewing the prices the contractor is paying for the list of items I posted a week or two ago. I'm pleased they were able to get the tub, tub surround and the tub faucet and shower head with separate removable spray for a good price. The exterior doors are more expensive than I expected, but a lot of other stuff is less (for example $584.38 for natural oak hardwood flooring in living room, both bedrooms, and hallway where State Farm paid $714.84; $527.88 for bathroom vanity and sink, State Farm paid $622.02) and the $277 State Farm paid for the living room wall-to-wall carpet I don't want will go toward the dishwasher I never had.

I also have to pick out a medicine cabinet, toilet and seat and may also look at some of the range and microwave- hood stuff this weekend at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.

I'm going to walk Jake 2-3 miles Saturday (45°, sunny and breezy) then hopefully three times next week if the excellent forecast holds up (Mon-Fri highs: 52°, 64°, 66°, 68°, 67° - sunny most days, "couple showers possible" Thurs.).

I'm looking forward to a lot in March:

Mar. 14: Daylight Savings Time!

Mar. 15: I finally get the permanent crown for my tooth root-canaled on Jan. 13 and final temporary crowned on Feb. 22.

Mar. 20: Spring haz sprung! The grass is riz! I wonder where the birdies iz?

Mar. 24: My 2nd Pfizer COVID Vaccination

Mar. 27: My sister's birthday: we can actually celebrate it this year at a nice, uncrowded restaurant!  Maybe my cousin's place.

Mar. 29: My new bicycle arrives "give or take a week," a Trek Verve 3 Disc - I met a husband and wife in their 60's or 70's while walking Jake Wed. and they had low-step bikes and were taking a break on a park bench.  They were from the opposite suburban side of Baltimore and were riding the BWI Airport Bike Trail for the first time and I was able to give them a heads-up on what to expect over the 6 miles they hadn't covered yet.

And not a single mention of an NCAA basketball tournament.

I actually am not scheduled for any music at Church this weekend!   So my wife signed me up to run the livestream on Saturday.

Sunday, a hike somewhere, to celebrate D1's birthday.  So we'll at least get to see some of the kids.  She talked about a dinner, but I'm not dining indoors yet, and it's going to be about 30 by dinnertime.

I stopped there on the way back from our C&O ride.  Hard to believe it was eight years ago!

So glad you stopped and saw it!! The summer flora there is spectacular. But it gets crowded with tourists.

It is hard to believe it was 8 years ago.  Good times.  😊
