Marmot

I saw a squirrel in my yard.  That's was my only wild mammal today.

At Easter dinner, the family members who live across the Bay, in our county, and the next county south all mentioned that they're not seeing any deer this year.

They used to encounter Jake and me walking wooded trails so often that they knew we were harmless and hardly looked up when we passed.  Where are they?

All the deer are at my house.  Our numbers have tripled over last year

She thought we would believe that.  Cute. :D

Well, I did see one. He jumped down this drain pipe so fast when he saw me.

I didnt get a chance to ask him when we might see some rain.

Do you have many around there?  They are super cool and what gave Whistler it's name.  You're pretty much living in 'L'il Whistler'

A few.  Here and there. Marmots are everywhere.

Maybe a woodchuck.  They look very similar.  Supposedly marmots live here, but so do woodchucks.

What the hell is a Marmot?  Someone explain to me without using the google machine.  Is it like a bear?  A dog?  A honey badger?  Does it give a shit?

It is this furry rodent thing.  Fat with sharp teeth.

But heck, you can't do a parody with a woodchuck so lets call that groundhog a marmot...  :)
