Popular Post Longjohn ★ Posted April 26, 2021 Popular Post Share #1 Posted April 26, 2021 I haven’t mentioned this in the cafe but I posted about it on other parts of the forum and other places. Just thought it was time I let you in on it. Greetings John, Thank for your recent order of a new Lynskey GR300. Based on our current inventory levels, your frame is in production and your order is estimated to ship on or before 4/30/21. We will do our best to have your order ready by the estimated ship date, but if anything changes, we will reach out and provide you with an update. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic we are taking every precaution with the health and safety of our staff. As such, there will be times where a shop employee will be flagged for quarantine and temporarily sidelined until it is safe for them to return to work. These actions do impede our production schedule, however we will do everything that we can to get your order shipped as soon as possible. If you would like to check on your order once we get closer to the estimated ship date, please send us an email to sales@lynskeyperformance.com requesting an update and include your Web Order #. This will allow our sales staff to communicate with our shop in a timely manner and provide you with a dedicated update. Thanks again for choosing Lynskey! In Regards, The Lynskey Team 8 11

Popular Post Longjohn ★ Posted April 26, 2021 Author Popular Post Share #12 Posted April 26, 2021 It’s a gravel touring bike. I bought a titanium rear rack with it too. I guess I’ll have to order new panniers for it when I get my strength back. My panniers are looking pretty shabby after all the years/miles I put on them. I was going to wait for my cardiologist to say I was going to get better but I feel better every day, I can do this. 4 8
Popular Post Longjohn ★ Posted April 26, 2021 Author Popular Post Share #13 Posted April 26, 2021 Just got another email: Greetings John, We wanted to share a few tidbits of information in regards to your order. Your bicycle will be built and test ridden here at Lynskey prior to it being placed into a box for shipment. We will need to remove the handlebars from the stem and the front wheel from the fork so that the bicycle will fit into the box safely. The rebuild of the bicycle once you have pulled the bicycle from the box will take roughly 15-30 minutes. Please see the attached image for an example of the bicycle order will arrive to you. Other Notes: Prior to riding the bicycle, please shift through all the gears to ensure that the hanger was not bent during shipment. Please let us know asap if the hanger is bent. Any mechanical issues with the components on the bicycle need to be addressed within the first 30 days of receiving the order. Our shop mechanic will build the bicycle with the maximum amount of spacers below the stem. 35mm of spacers below the stem is the maximum safe stack height and we will not be able to leave the steerer tube longer. This is done to help insure the safety of our customers while riding. Please be aware of the following Torque Specifications: Torque Specifications Lynskey Seatpost Clamp – 5Nm Stem Clamp(FSA and Lynskey Ti-Stem) – 6Nm Lynskey Ti Seatpost Enve Insert – 15Nm (The 12Nm marking is for carbon seatposts) In terms of cleaning the bicycle, we will suggest that you clean the bicycle with 1:10ratio of Dawn Dish Soap and Water. Dawn soap is very good at cleaning the frame and the components and does not leave an oily residue on the frame or components. To bring shine to frame, we use Pledge Lemon Oil Furniture Polish. If you frame has Anodized graphics, we have found that Windex works best as other cleaners result in dulling out the anodizing. For future maintenance when replacing parts: We will highly suggest to use a copper based anti-seize for the threads on the bottom bracket prior to installed the bb cups. We also wrap the bb cup threads with teflon tape. The combination of the two will help to ensure the bottom bracket never seizes and will uninstall much easier at a later date. For the headset bearings, you will want to apply water proof grease on the interior of headtube cups where the bearings will sit. We suggest to not use grease for the seatpost install. If you are using a carbon fiber seatpost, carbon paste may be used. It is highly recommended that the seatpost is removed every 2-4 months and cleaned to help ensure that the seatpost never seizes in the frame. The grease and anti-seize we use in our factory for complete bicycle builds will be from Finish Line: Finish Line - Anti Seize Assembly Lubricant Finish Line - Premium Grease made with Teflon™ fluoropolymer In Regards, The Lynskey Team

Randomguy Posted April 26, 2021 Share #15 Posted April 26, 2021 Why does it say large rather than extra large? And why external vs. internal routing? I always love to find out the reasons people get what they get! It looks absolutely awesome, and should be a joy to ride! 2

Ritchey sticks with external routing as well.

Originally I ordered a large frame and then I found out their large isn’t very large. I ordered the extra large after I got the quote. Same price and components on XL. Internal routing is a pain when you change cables and it costs $300 more.

I’m still supposed to wear it except for when I take a brief shower. It makes my back break out when I do that so I only wear it about 50% of the time. I have a cardiology appointment tomorrow and will discuss not wearing it anymore.

Greetings John, We wanted to reach out to thank you for your purchase of your GR300, and for your patience with us during these unforeseen times. We have been notified that a few parts for your order are delayed at the manufacturer. As such, we are working to source the parts from other vendors to complete your order asap. We are anticipating delays of less than two weeks for most orders. We fully understand that this is a disappointing email to receive and we take zero pride in notifying you that there is a delay from our suppliers. Our goal is to be transparent and keep you as informed as possible. Our tech is working to look at every avenue to get the needed parts here asap. If the components have an extended delay past two weeks or the parts are simply unavailable, our tech will look at other other options/kits to present to you via email. I was looking for geometry like on my 520. The chain stay is a little shorter and I have big feet. I’ll have to try my old panniers and see if I have heal strike. I plan on buying new panniers anyway, they make some that are narrow at the bottom to avoid that.

Mine are shaped to avoid heal strikes. You can see the bottom corner is not square. It's kind of hard to see from the photo of my bike, but the bag follows the seat stay in it's angle. My Tubus racks also seemed to put the bags a little farther back, and then on my Ortliebs (not shaped L vs R), the attachment is pretty adjustable to shift the load a little farther back on the rack.
