Cordless electric leaf blowers?

Are they ok?  Reviews for the one I am looking at complain aboot only getting 10-15 minutes of use per charge on a 2 amp hour battery.  I have two of those batteries for the weedwacker so I am thinking that is ok.  I am ok with resting in the middle of a job. :)

Batteries have improved immensely, cordless tools perform on a par with corded tools.

The thing that keeps me from jumping on the cordless bandwagon is that at home I don't use the tools enough to wear them out, and the batteries will die of old age and neglect.

I have corded tools that are 30+ years old and still work. I don't think a battery will last any where near that long.

We have one that can handle smaller jobs. It uses the same battery as 4 other devices so we always have 3 on the charger.

When we need to do something like clean out gutters or the annual maple tree helicopter seed drop happens, I have a 2-stroke gasoline leaf blower. I'd rather use the battery blower, but sometimes its not the right tool for the job.

My next mower will probably be battery powered. My son has one and it does a good job on a lawn larger than ours.

Yeah, maple leave thinghies are the current problem.

Good point aboot the batteries dying of old age.  That happened to my Ryobi cordless drill, so now I use the 40 year old B&D corded one I have had forever.  Way less convenient, but ... who wants to buy a new drill or batteries every 10 years?

But that said, I already have the batteries for the cordless weed wacker.  I never worried much aboot blowing stuff away before, but I have sweeped and shoveled when there is heavy debris like these darn whirlygigs, and that is a non-starter as I get older.

Most likely.  I have had it with gummed up carbs and excess noise, so a gasoline one is snot even a consideration.

I just run the gas out of my Stilhl leaf blower.   It has never gunned up.

Most of the time, I just use my JD tractor as a huge leaf blower and blow the leaves into the woods.

I have way too many leaves for a cordless leaf blower.

I guess it depends on how much time you need to use the thing.

I also have two interchangeable batteries, a 2 ah and a 4 ah for my Worx GT weedwacker and small chain saw.  The charge rate isn't fast enough to totally recharge one while using the other, but if I used the 2 ah first, it gets about half charged before the 4 ah is used up.

They do at least 20 minutes and 40 minutes of work with the weedwacker but since it's not in continuous use the entire time and a take a couple short breaks, it's more like 90 minutes before they're running low.  That works for me.  When I use the chain saw, it's also not continuous and it cuts very well until I'm tired so that also works.

Add this to the gas.
