So I spent the whole damn day with snatches of this playing in my head. Loud.

Ewwwwww country music

To paraphrase a line from The Blues Brothers "There's only two types of music that I don't like: Country and Western".

The funny thing is grew up in the country, worked on farms, helped plow fields and take down crops, and everyone I knew listened to country music..

I blasted punk…

I rejected country for a long time even though I grew up with it in the house. Mostly because Dad kept insulting our musical choices.
I started working my way back because bands like the Blasters, Beat Farmers and Webb Wilder were incorporating it into their sounds. I find if I’m going to listen to country, I would rather hear the real deal and not the currently popular “album cover country”

I don't want to think, don't make me care, I want to melt in with the group
I need the balls to leap out of my shell and let go with my friends

I was a massive DK, Ramones, and Black flag fan

Mrs Z and I used to hang out at this little hole in the wall country bar back in the day. Always had live music and we two stepped all over that floor.

They even had a bouncer called “Bubba”.  😊

In the mid to late 80s we were all about that scene.
