When I lived in VA Beach there were problems with chicklets all summer long.  Many did not appear to be underage and sailors living there had to be very careful.

In the 80’s when I was in VA the legal age of consent in VA was 14 at the time. UCMJ was 16....

Not that we messed around with girls that age but it was good info to have in your back pocket in case the girl looked older than they were and wanted to party with the soldiers which many did...

Hahah.  It is interesting how some folks will excuse sleeping with underage gals as fine for some (not us), or maybe are fine with hanging out while teens are undressed backstage (not us)), but do get a bit antsy over other things that are a bit less proven (nutty even).  But, that's the hand we're dealt these days :(

We didn’t enforce barracks policy nor the E or O Club but on a Friday/Sat night we had numerous civilian women/girls check in at the gates.  Funny that we could tell by looking at them where they were going...  Early/mid 20’s, well dressed & smell nice, O Club.   Teen something, low cut top & a 12 pack of beer, E club or maybe straight to the barracks...

We would keep close tabs on the barracks at around midnight to 2 am looking for DUI’s  and we would call the girls coming out of the barracks at those hours Sleestacks.  They reminded us of the monsters from Land of the Lost...
