Anyone? I resisted getting one as I knew most of the cycling routes but I’m in a new place and could use the mappings and map My ride downloads. Pros and cons please.

I often get on my bike and ask it to take me on a round trip of xx miles.  It works well, unless it decides to take me on a dirt path.  I have the 1000.

The 1000 would be nice but I don’t make SquareWheels money.

I just did the Garmin compare between the 530, 830, and 1030, and the ONLY difference was the 830 is a touchscreen AND the 1030/830 has "on device course creator", 530 does not.   Recalling my struggle to activate my iPhone's touchscreen with sweaty/sunscreen/wet fingers, I'd say that is not worth $100 extra.

I recently went from my 520 to a 530 and am happy with the 530 and its routing and map functions.

I also went from a 520 to 530 and like it. Had a 705 before that.

One thing that the *30 all have is the ability to work with a special mount which contains a battery. Gives over 24 hours for people who do things like double centuries or 24 hour races.

I have the 530. It works for me; however, I seldom use the mapping function.

i got the 530 but haven't used it yet - probably mostly short rides around the community with my bike until my house is rebuilt and my wasting-away neck/shoulder muscles get stronger.
