Inattentive = really stupid mistake = lucky ending

Precision Tune charges $65 or more for synthetic oil so I buy it for around $25/5 qt. at Walmart each oil change and take it in with me.

My Honda recommends 0W-20 synthetic oil and I looked at the cheaper 0W-20 Mobil for $21.95, the "Higher Mileage" for $24.95 and the "Extended Performance for $27.95 (on sale for $24.37) at Walmart this week.

Since I only change my oil every year to year-and-a-half, I went for the "Extended Performance" but didn't notice the jug I picked up was full synthetic 5W-30 oil.

I finally noticed it when I has driving home after the oil change and the jug with a little unused oil was on the car floor with 5W-30 showing.

So I nervously checked online and found several "Fit Freak" and other website references saying, "The difference between 0W20 and 5W30 is minimal and should do no harm to your engine" and "The Honda Fit is called the Honda Jazz in Australia and it comes with a 1.3 or 1.5 L, I-4 engine[mine is 1.5 L] and everybody runs 5W-30 in them here."

Whew!

So you bring the oil to the shop, and they use it for your oil change?!?!?  That's awesome!

Einstein is right.  The 5W30 is a heavier weight oil than the 0W20, so the mileage will decrease by 5W10, or so.
