What is the best ice cream truck treat?

I remember loving fudgesicles from the "Good Humor" ice cream truck that a "Mr. Charlie" drove through our neighborhood on summer days in the 50's to early 60's, though on real hot days they were a little more sticky to deal with than popsicles.

Creamy Fudgesicles

4.5 Stars (269 Reviews)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk or cream
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In microwave safe bowl, or a large measuring cup, heat milk on high until hot but not boiling, about 2 minutes.
  2. Remove from microwave and whisk in cocoa and sugar until completely blended.
  3. Pour milk mixture over chocolate chips and stir until chips are completely melted. Let mixture cool for 5 minutes then pour into popsicle molds. Place popsicle sticks in each compartment. Freeze until completely frozen. About 6-8 hours.

Notes

If using wooden sticks or paper straws, you will need to let your popsicles freeze for about 1-2 hours before placing the sticks so they stay in place.

Those bastards made me mad with that poster of like 7000 types of ice cream to choose from and I only had $1.00 and 17 seconds to choose and all the kids behind yelling "hurry up jsharr you big a hole."

I found your ice cream truck:

Strawberry shortcake or fudgesicles.  Pushups were happy things, too.

Yum.

Remember that Eddy Murphy ice cream truck bit, that was so me as a child.  Ice Cream Man!!! Mom ice cream man, ice cream man!   She’d give me a couple of bucks but always wanted me to get her one too.
