Speaking of ice cream

Who remembers ice cream snowballs with the candle in them.

I was remembering this and talking to my husband and he said he did not remember these and that I only got candle treats cause I was very spoiled. HA.  Like my family put the candle and it didn't come with the candle from the package.

I think his family never bought him these things.

Who remembers this?

Must be regional. Never saw those. Our parents were cheap. The only ice cream we saw at home was the 5 quart pail of vanilla or occassionally a cardboard quart because it was the only to get butter brickle which was dad's favorite! To be fair, we would go to DQ a few times during the season. This was back when the local DQs closed over the school year.

Sounds great but I don't think they came our way!

Today, my brother and I saw an ice cream commercial on TV with four scoops of different ice creams and nuts on top and were drooling over it!

We had just moved my bike and some other belongings into temp. storage at his house - the Honda Fit has a surprising 57 cu.ft. of cargo capacity and there was a lot of stuff.  There was also high humidity and "felt like 98°."

I have a pint of Ben & Jerry's Phish Food in the freezer and may go through the whole thing tonight.

I googled this flaming ice cream. Seems a western thing but people are very nostalgic for them and I found many recipes to recreate them at home. They came 8 to a box and seemed to have both paper doilies and candles.

Yes!! I forgot the doily.  HAHA

So a regional thing.  Crazy Californians.
