And the smell.  Can’t forget that cast smell

Oh, yeah. My only two (ankle, knee) were a long time ago and in Yankee land, so there was less residual sweat to enhance complicate synergize the resulting aromas smells stank.

They clearly do not understand the concept of management.  How does a manager look at the overall picture and allocate resources if he or she is making sure the food does not burn?  Delegation is key to running any group larger than one.

That was the business model at Friendly's when I graduated from high school.  The manager was on the grill.  The grill was up front where everyone could see it.  There were waitresses and the buss boy (me). Night shutdown was the manager and the buss boy.  The waitresses went home at shift end.  Things changed in the following years. New business model followed by bankruptcy.

Update.....

Surgery to repair on next Thursday

Like a few screws?  I can't read those x-rays but nothing seemed TOO awful.  I wonder if the old school "throw a cast on it" treatment from our childhoods is way old, and they're more likely to do screws and plates and the like nowadays.

Good luck to him, though!

plate and a few screws.  Look at the head of the larger bone there in first x ray.  It is displaced up.  Really hard to see (even for myself that's seen a million of them).  The ER guy pointed it out to me.  We could have tried casting and setting but no way to guarantee that it would stay in that position to heal.  If this was a 60 year old, relatively inactive person that might be OK.  But since he is so young and active it really should be fixed right so it doesn't give him problems down the road.

We had to make a tough decision on whether to have surgery or not after my son broke his hand.  I asked the orthopedic Dr if your son or you had this injury would you get surgery?   He said probably not so we didn’t.

In hindsight it did affect his grip a little bit as his pinky finger is kinda out of whack.  Maybe surgery would have prevented that.   The only benefit was he could no longer throw a circle change so developed a nasty split finger..

Playing football with friends.

I broke my right arm/wrist in second grade playing football with friends.   I remember hearing a snap.  The bone wasn't broken all the way thru.  I didn't tell my parents...   I figured it would be OK.

I went to school... tried to pull open the door.  OMG did that hurt.   Then I got a cast.

I went to school...  I told the nun I could not longer write anything.  (Hoping I didn't have to do most of the work.)  I'll never forget the response...   Sister Patricia told me;  "God gave your two hands, use the other one."

Hope your son heals fast...
