Memorial Day Weekend Plans

Hope to ride at least 100 miles in those 3 days.

Dinner with at least 3 grandsons both Friday and Saturday.

Get organized and start packing for the GAPCO ride next week. We are leaving on Wednesday.

Hopefully the contractors will finish the last two items so that we can get the dumpster and porta-potty out of the driveway.

Rain, rain and more rain along with the possibility of one of the coldest days on record tomorrow.  I believe that for the first time in a long time womaxx, youngest son and I will go to the casino tomorrow for a brunch at the Hash house.  Sunday is devoted to auto racing.  The sun may show up on Monday so more plans are dependent on that.

Work today. We are planning to drive up to a brewery tonight that is having a Memorial kickoff with a smoker trailer.

Saturday - need to drive to Lincoln or Omaha to get some seamless backdrop for a shoot next weekend. Probably get in a ride when I get home.

The rest of the weekend is supposed to be cool and drippy. May ride again if weather gods allow. Probably do some basement cleanup and few indoor projects. Indy 500 if they aren't rained out.

Nobody else is starting this thread so I will. I am off Friday so my weekend starts now. The weekend's here so I'm going to have a beer. I started with a DC Brau Pils. An excellent Pilsner. I then made pizza dough and sauce. Chopped a sweet onion and a green bell pepper. Decided to cook outside because it's 86 in the house. Pizza came out really good. Had a homebrew Back in the Saddle IPA with dinner.

Friday, Mike is picking me up at 6 am and we are off to Richmond for a birthday ride. I turned 62 on Wednesday and he turns 52 on Saturday. We are meeting a cohort at the start of the Capitol to Capitol Trail that runs from Richmond, the Capitol of Virginia to Williamsburg, the former Commonwealth Capitol.  We aren't going the whole way as it's 52 miles one way and I'm not ready for that. We will ride about 20-25 miles and turn around. Change and visit some local breweries for sustenance. Richmond is home to at least 26 craft breweries including Stone's east coast operation.

Pretty cool!

Last night was pizza night, and my goal while out here has been to drink "local" as much as possible.  Last night was a couple of good ones while eating pizza on the patio:

Painting the house on Saturday.  An overnight stay with my BFF with homemade pizza and access to laundry facilities.

Sunday more painting.

Monday I get to relax a bit, maybe go for a ride, and do some planting and watering for my new plants and trees.

We have been working so hard.  I have taken massive amounts of vacation in the recent months and none of them feel like a vacation.

Heading to Evansville to sub pitch for a team.  It has a lot of our great friend's kids on it.  Should be a lot of fun (even though we will probably get the living shit kicked out of use early and often)

What?!  Even with Emm pitching?  :dontknow:

She can't pitch every game.  Gotta have more than good pitching for tourneys like this weekend.  This is a solid little club but they just don't have a ton of firepower.  hopefully I am wrong

This is fun - she is the continuation of the kid in Little League who always smoked our team with no hitters (OK, I guess really perfect games) and you were a hero if you got a foul tip. :D

rain and cold moving in any minute now.  Tomorrow will be chores in the house, evening Mass.  Sunday moving the rest of Jr. wife's stuff from another friends house that got sold to her THIRD storage shed.  Possibly look at a house or two with her.  One of which has no kitchen, considering contractors are mostly booked through 2022 if she buys that it means she'll be living here for a couple more years.  With stuff everywhere.  We may not be able to look at the other house, she was complaining that the current owner is borderline hoarder and she can't inspect the house with all the stuff there.

Monday weather looks great, we'll find some outdoor activity

You’ll probably groan, but we didn’t plan a stop in Bardstown because it would have meant extra driving. But we were warned of a huge traffic jam South of Louisville, so we took backroads and ended up in Bardstown, driving by Heaven Hills Distillery. But since we were already behind schedule we didn’t stop.

I did last week. Went to Gettysburg National Park on way home. The national cemetery and the Soldiers Monument on left is site where Abraham Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address, dedicating the cemetery and establishing the National Cemetary System.
