Popular Post Parr8hed Posted June 1, 2021 Popular Post Share #1 Posted June 1, 2021 Sat night. Some time in the summer of probably 1995. Pensacola Fl. Me and a couple of buddies jumped into the Jeep CJ7 (a 1981) and drove from Pensacola to Gulf Shores AL to a little club called the "Florabama" that sits right on the FL/AL state line. Back in those days it was a little beach club right on the beach that had a package store in front and about 7 portable stages and one fixed stage. It was kinda thrown together with tarps, beer taps, some sand and a lot of bras and dollar bills up on the walls. College kids hangout. We arrived after a 45 min drive and the lady at the front said that there was a 10 dollar cover. Back in those days 20 bucks was about our allotment for drinking money for the evening. 10 bucks was a steep cover. The lady said "we have a band tonight". I told here that there are about 8 bands every night. She said this one was different. But she was not allowed to tell me who they were. I looked at my buddies and said "You guys want to pay this cover or find another place?" There was a big burley bouncer with a bike club jacket, beard and tatts all over his arms. He looked at me and said "pay the money son". We all stepped up and gave 10 bucks each, walked in and the Marshal Tucker Band was playing "Can't you see" right in front of us. We sat there and watched them and drank Natty Light pitchers all night. It was a great night. The end. 8

I have seen him quite a few times in concert. Buuuuuuut, if I got a chance to see him in a beach bar, just him and a guitar there is no telling how much money I would shell out to be there. It would be a LOT of money.

Third or fourth time we saw him in Dallas he came out with his guitar player climbed onto a scissor lift a few rows from us lift it up in the air and we could see it was decorated as a palm tree and began just play songs with a guitar to the people around him. It was amazing amazing

It was amazing amazing Yea, he has a couple different Martin signature series guitars that they created for him. This is the bigger one (Like a D18 or something like that?) they also have a little "Pollywog" that has palm trees in the neck and headstock.
