MoseySusan Posted June 7, 2021 Share #1 Posted June 7, 2021 It’s under construction, but should be a cool place for birdwatching when it’s finished. The MUT will run throughout when it’s done, so we’ll be able to ride around instead of driving in. It occurs to me after looking at the fences and xeriscape on this new swath of path that cycling is a kind of gentrification. Property in the south valley is pretty undeveloped. But now there’s a fancy bike path and a bird refuge going in, that could change in a hurry. https://www.relive.cc/view/vLqeGg4mPRO

The US would greatly benefit from safe cycling routes from East to West and North to South - akin to the Interstate system, but designated PURELY for traditional MUT users. You see it everywhere a significant path system exists - folks come to walk and ride, businesses serve them, areas stabilize or improve.

I totally agree. We saw this while cycling in The Netherlands. It would be relatively easy to connect the “Rio communities” here by designated bike path. Just waiting on the GOP to loosen up a little and start that cash flow.
