UglyBob Posted September 8, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 8, 2014 It just stopped about 15 minutes ago. This is the park by my house: This is where the New River Trail goes under Thunderbird Road. It's under about eight feet of water... This is the riverbed by Rio Vista Park. It's normally dry.

UglyBob Posted September 8, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted September 8, 2014 Our house sits pretty high. We're not in any danger. Other parts of town are not so lucky. We've had closures on every freeway in the valley this morning.

UglyBob Posted September 8, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted September 8, 2014 Can you please send some of that agua to Tejas por favor? We've really needed the rain too, just not all at once!
Road Runner Posted September 8, 2014 Share #8 Posted September 8, 2014 We've really needed the rain too, just not all at once! That's the way it rains here these days. Rains here used to be mostly nice soaking shower events, but over the last few years, it seems like every rain is a fucking deluge. Global warming, I guess. Former member Posted September 8, 2014 Share #13 Posted September 8, 2014 Did you see any snakes or javelinas? A few weeks ago when we got that storm, I saw many rattlers on the canal path.

MoseySusan Posted September 9, 2014 Share #16 Posted September 9, 2014 We heard about the deluge from our kids. Schools were closed except for the charter where our daughter works. She had to get to work through the water. We're supposed to have rain here tomorrow and Wednesday, but it looks like you all have most of it already.
