Hallelujah

Now I've done my best, I know it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didnt come here to London just to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I'll stand right here before the Lord of song
With nothing, nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

My rewording of the fifth stanza:

”There was a time I needed know
What's up above and down below
But I’ve never seen and I don’t know, now do you?
But I remember when it moved in me
And the light of love helped me to breathe
And every single breath I drew was Hallelujah”

That song, in all it's variations, has become too popular in skating right now.  I hear it at almost every skating event recently, including from the most recent US dance champions.

How aboot Europa?  That seems so perfect for skating that it must get massively overused. Heck, most Santana songs should be good for skating.

The three greatest composers of the Classical Era (1756-1830) were Mozart, Beethoven, and Haydn (pronounced HIGH-din).

When Haydn went to London and heard Handel's Hallelujah Chorus he cried out, "I am nothing! I am nothing!"

====================================

This joke will make snooty classical musicians think you know something about that era:

Why couldn't Mozart find his friend?

He was Haydn.
