Dirtyhip Posted September 9, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted September 9, 2014 I never make pot pie. I don't know how to make it. I want to make a quiche soon. It seems like a reasonable fall meal. I do have plenty of eggs.
kingtermite Posted September 9, 2014 Share #4 Posted September 9, 2014 Beets. Yuck! I don't know what my wife has planned. She isn't working right now so plans/prepares the meals 90% of the time.

I'm a pretty easy eater too. There aren't many things I turn my nose up at, but beets is one of them. They're not as bad as radishes, but I don't really like them. That's because he's scared of you, not because the cooking is great.

smudge ★ Posted September 10, 2014 Share #15 Posted September 10, 2014 Had chili and soup tonight. Went to local fund raiser "Chili Challenge." Quite a few more soups than chili this year. It was one of the best assortments this year of the many I've attended. I'm full, but not miserable. (which is how I usually leave there!)

MoseySusan Posted September 10, 2014 Share #23 Posted September 10, 2014 I smeared a puree of roasted green chile, olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, cumin, garlic, s&p all over chicken breasts and roasted them. Put sweet potatoes into the oven with the chicken. Boiled corn on the cob, and then cut it from the cob before serving it. One ingredient foods, super tasty.

Zephyr Posted September 10, 2014 Share #28 Posted September 10, 2014 Last night was homemade spaghetti with my wife's amazing homemade sauce, with a Caesar sauce with dressing from scratch. Tonight I think it is going to be an Acadian Meat pie (chicken and pork) with baked potato and salad.
MoseySusan Posted September 10, 2014 Share #29 Posted September 10, 2014 I like meat pies. There's a pub in town that serves chicken pot pie and the gravy has a touch of green chili in it. Fresh vegetables, red potatoes, tender chicken pieces, and savory like nothing you've ever had. They serve it in a huge bowl topped with an amazing pastry crust, and it's nearly impossible to stop eating it. I'm trying their shepherds pie the next time we go there. I've heard it's equally satisfying.
