Randomguy Posted July 8, 2021 Share #1 Posted July 8, 2021 On my ride just now, I passed a dude whose cycling shorts were so old that they were sheer, like pantyhose. You could totally see his pasty butt, and you really didn't want to. At some point, shouldn't you just break down and buy new shorts?

ChrisL Posted July 8, 2021 Share #5 Posted July 8, 2021 Nothing about me is pasty white! Sometimes people don’t know their Lycra is failing them. I had to tell my wife one time to replace them shorts as she didn’t know the Lycra was falling apart. About 10 years ago I was riding a lot with a club and a lady none of us knew rode with our group one time. Nice person and strong rider but damn her shorts were see through. None of us had the heart to tell her and none of us wanted to be behind her when she pulled through… It was literally like looking into her colon.

And you never want it to be worse than a semi colon.
Ralphie ★ Posted July 8, 2021 Share #7 Posted July 8, 2021 I had some soft gray Performance ones that I really liked but I did finally have to pitch them because of excess thinness.
shootingstar Posted July 8, 2021 Share #8 Posted July 8, 2021 Um well, how does one tell a person if they're not a close friend nor family member.. It's like someone walking out of the public washroom with toilet tissue hanging out from their waistband..
Zephyr Posted July 8, 2021 Share #9 Posted July 8, 2021 Now I need to check all my shorts..., although 99% of the time I ride alone and there are so few cyclists here I rarely catch anyone or get caught from behind
Popular Post Zephyr Posted July 8, 2021 Popular Post Share #10 Posted July 8, 2021 Maybe I should just buy this butt crack cycling jersey to distract from my see through shorts

Luckily, the side leg panels go well before the backside panel on my shorts. When I can see my pale pasty while leg showing through, they get demoted to back up shorts for use only under my winter tights. Or, just tossed. JerrySTL ★ Posted July 8, 2021 Share #12 Posted July 8, 2021 Recently I saw a guy wearing bibs so worn that you could see he was also wearing a thong. WTF x 2.

groupw Posted July 8, 2021 Share #15 Posted July 8, 2021 Once with an old cycling buddy. A couple of us told him and he didn’t take the hint. One of the guys told his wife and he had new shorts at the next ride! Another was a woman who rode at a pretty high level. Following her was not unpleasant but we told another female rider in the group who relayed it to her.
Bikeguy Posted July 8, 2021 Share #16 Posted July 8, 2021 Several years ago, riding our tandem once, WoBG mentioned I needed new bibs. Yeah... I ordered new bibs. Hmmm... maybe it's time again.

Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted July 8, 2021 Share #18 Posted July 8, 2021 No problem if you don’t wear shorts while riding. Pale skin gets tan pretty quick and I haven’t had anyone ride my wheel in a long time. Cars seem to go wide every time too. Win/win.
jsharr ★ Posted July 8, 2021 Share #19 Posted July 8, 2021 Yes and even when I don’t ride too!
