Popular Post Airehead Posted July 11, 2021 Popular Post Share #1 Posted July 11, 2021 We have an excess of cherries we picked. I am making date bars using cherries instead of dates. Made a bunch and will freeze some for winter. I hope this works. 10
Popular Post Airehead Posted July 11, 2021 Author Popular Post Share #2 Posted July 11, 2021 Only 1 tablespoon added sugar is 10 cups of cherries. More Cornstarch than I anticipated. 5 1

ChrisL Posted July 11, 2021 Share #7 Posted July 11, 2021 Cherries have been inexpensive and good so I have been binging on them. As@MickinMD noted they don’t spike our glucose and I can attest I haven’t seen a spike in my numbers even though I ate 3/4 a bag last night. 2 1
Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted July 11, 2021 Share #8 Posted July 11, 2021 I would make pie. Cherry pie. Sadly we only get the sweet varieties for eating and not for cooking. I’d like a source of sour cherries this time of year. Peaches are in season. I should make more peach pie.

Kirby Posted July 12, 2021 Share #11 Posted July 12, 2021 I wish they made cherries without pits. They seem so bothersome with the pits. Aire's cherry bars seem like a wonderful idea!

That basic oatmeal, brown sugar, flour and butter crumble for top and bottom. Pit about two cups of cherries for one pan. Add a little brandy, orange juice , or water. Put in two tablespoons corn starch. Heat over medium stirring frequently. Let it bubble until the gooey part is clear. Put half the crumbs in a greased dish. Put cherries in. Sprinkle crumble on top. Bake 20 to 30 minutes at 350.
