MoseySusan Posted July 12, 2021 Share #5 Posted July 12, 2021 Neither. I mix ketchup and hot sauce for dipping fries, and I mix ketchup and sambal for dipping shrimp. Sometimes I mix it with BBQ and smear it on top of meatloaf. Those are the only times I use ketchup.

maddmaxx ★ Posted July 12, 2021 Share #8 Posted July 12, 2021 None of the choices in the minimal poll. It's possible that we use the most ketchup making a glaze for the top of a meatloaf. Womaxx mixes it with some spices and puts a layer on the top of the meatloaf just before it goes into the oven. That layer might be a quarter of an inch thick. 2 tablespoons brown sugar. 2 tablespoons prepared mustard. 1/3 cup catchup.

TrentonMakes Posted July 12, 2021 Share #14 Posted July 12, 2021 I will admit that if i am eating steak and fries, and if there's a little ketchup on the plate, and if it's not a prime piece of beef - yes, i might drag a bite or two of that steak through that ketchup, just a little. Meanwhile i probably haven't eaten ketchup on a hot dog in 30 years.
Allen ★ Posted July 12, 2021 Share #15 Posted July 12, 2021 I use ketchup in my cocktail sauce recipe, and that’s the only think I can think of.

I think allowing children to put ketchup on hotdogs is child abuse, and only sets them up for mockery the rest of their lives.
MickinMD ★ Posted July 12, 2021 Share #17 Posted July 12, 2021 For hotdogs, I use ketchup. For steak I use A1 sauce, salsa, in a pinch ketchup. When I eat fast-food French fries at home without a fork, I pile them on a plate and put a big dollop of ketchup alongside them that exceeds what I do for steak. Also, when I'm munching on nuked chicken nuggets, some horseradish and a big dolloo of ketchup mixed into a cocktail sause is the other main way I consume ketchup. That reminds me. I have to run to the store for A1 sauce to go with steak tonight.
JerrySTL ★ Posted July 12, 2021 Share #18 Posted July 12, 2021 Neither. I use mustard on hot dogs and, if anything, A1 on steaks. Ketchup is for fries.

Remember..........small grinder rolls, shredded cheese, chili, onions, jalapenos, and a pickle spear, mustard not catsup. That's why the large bun.
