Razors Edge ★ Posted July 31, 2021 Share #1 Posted July 31, 2021 ...in your Olympic rotation? Golf was on earlier, and that was exciting. Mixed Judo looked promising. Dressage had a 60+ yr old competitor, so that was cool. What else?
Square Wheels Posted July 31, 2021 Share #2 Posted July 31, 2021 Haven't seen a minute of it. We usually don't watch. I liked it better as a kid when pros didn't compete.
shootingstar Posted July 31, 2021 Share #3 Posted July 31, 2021 I tried watching table tennis. By the way, sister and I over 30 yrs. ago or more, I met a CAnadian national champion for table tennis. It IS very fast game. I understand for the Olympics they had to use bigger balls, 40 mm, so the TV camera could catch the ball action for viewers. Badminton is more fun to watch... Wilbur ★ Posted July 31, 2021 Share #6 Posted July 31, 2021 Compared to the summer Olympics, watching paint dry is very entertaining.

Longjohn ★ Posted July 31, 2021 Share #8 Posted July 31, 2021 This is the first time I heard that Olympic ping pong players have big balls. Who knew?
Longjohn ★ Posted July 31, 2021 Share #9 Posted July 31, 2021 My TV isn’t connected to anything anymore so I couldn’t watch it if I wanted to. I’m watching a feeding frenzy of humming birds on my deck. 1
maddmaxx ★ Posted July 31, 2021 Share #10 Posted July 31, 2021 Mostly I watch the soccer games. I enjoy the short events like 100 meter swimming. Coming up will be some of the better track and field events with sprinters and relays.

Women's road race is one of the two events I actually taped while I was away. Still haven't gotten around to watching it. The men's was torture with the schizophrenic changing to other events in the interest of "covering everything, none of it well".

Ralphie ★ Posted August 1, 2021 Share #16 Posted August 1, 2021 I (barely ) happened to notice that the USA and Canadian wimmins beach volleyball teams were still wearing those sexist skimpy outfits. I think one of them won. Actually I stopped watching before the end.

In All Creatures Great and Small, James Herriot had to shoot a promising race horse because of a twisted colon that had cut off blood supply and couldn’t be operated on to fix it. He had to earn back the respect of the community afterwards.

Taking from your words, your attitude and spouting off is ROYALL FUCKED UP. Why don't you just give the Olympics a rest? I hope you enjoyed the interaction of the two high jumpers that decided to share the gold metal or the two 800m runners that fell and finished together. I thought the wrong runner was reinstated for the final, but that is just my opinion. 1

I generally think, had a human athlete been killed at the games (definitely if an American athlete), we'd acknowledge and talk about it. Maybe not? I guess horses are not really something we should discuss except when things are rosey? Equestrian Eventing is a beautiful sport and we don't want to sully it with the reality of how many horses are put down. Let's pretend it didn't happen and focus on the human interest story of the day!
