Popular Post JerrySTL ★ Posted August 21, 2021 Popular Post Share #14 Posted August 21, 2021 Only 27 x 2 miles if we are counting WoJSTL. We had planned on 40 miles however got a flat on the rear tire. Couldn't find what caused the flat as inflating the tube didn't show anything as the Slime in it decided to start working. Actually it might be the rim tape as it had moved and the centrifugal force would keep the Slime away from the rim tape side. Anyway with no spare tube and only one CO2 cartridge left, we figured heading directly back to the start was a good idea. 8/21/2021. 5

Popular Post Scrapr ★ Posted August 21, 2021 Popular Post Share #28 Posted August 21, 2021 43.39 on Sat the 21th. Woke up @6:30 am & shit!....it's raining. My miles were in jeopardy. Hung around, walked the dogs, got a bagel & coffee & watched the roads dry up. So kitted up like it was February & went out. (it was 60 degrees!!!) I put a loop on the end of my nermal mileage & thought I would get >45. It's a good thing cause I was struggling the last few miles/hills. 3 energy gels (Salted Carmel by the Sea) Do we have to wait up all night for the Hawaii results? 7 3
Popular Post MickinMD ★ Posted August 21, 2021 Popular Post Share #29 Posted August 21, 2021 4.07 miles - sorry! This was my first ride of more than 100 yards in almost 2 years. Being in good enough shape to walk Jake for an hour with no soreness is NOT good enough to ride for an hour when you haven't been cycling for almost 2 years. My heart rate, which I try to keep under 144 bpm - my max is 166, was often running over 150 on a fairly flat course, so at 2 miles I turned around. I didn't know how to start the timer (forgot there were two buttons on the bottom) on my Garmin Edge 530 (big downgrade from touchscreen 510). So I had stored past rides from my 510, called one up, and it let me start the timer. I promptly fell down as I apparently had the front/rear gears set very goofy and the chain came off. I got the chain back on and began my ride at 7 minutes - didn't want to try to restart it. Stopped a lot due to heart rate at benches and took it easy 10 mph max, 7 mph a lot. I took an hour to get in 4 miles! Next time better as I get in shape and learn the bike! 11 3

Note, by the way that scientifically 20.5 without any other info, round to 20, not 21 because science rounds the exact "5" to the nearest even number. That avoids like 1.5 + 2.5 rounds to 2 + 3 and instead, it's scientifically rounded to 2 + 2. But, since 33 km is just a little more than 20.5, it rounds to 21 and does NOT round to 20.5 if 33 is a rounded number. Just trying to help the cause by half a mile here!
