Razors Edge ★ Posted August 24, 2021 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2021 There's a long mostly flat section of the Reston Century that goes about 15 miles between rest stops. This rider was ahead of me, and as I slowly reeled them in, they started also putting a bit more effort into their riding. What struck me as I approached was the very challenging foot position and also the constant full body movement - either because of the pedals or some habit??? Anyway, caught and passed, but having forgotten until I looked back over the footage, I notice the rider continues with the full body effort even as I slowly pull away. Very interesting to watch again (to me) but also impressive to think that rider with that technique was riding either the metric or the full century. That type of riding would kill me in a matter of miles, but I think being young might also mean that sort of riding isn't as brutal?
