Initially we couldn't quite believe seeing this ugly, ferocious looking pig in the middle of nowhere, meaning in wilderness. I didn't realize they are tough to contain.. ChrisL Posted October 12, 2021 Share #2 Posted October 12, 2021 This has been an issue in the lower 48 as well. Southern & Midwestern states have been hit hard with wild pigs tearing up farmland & such. If I’m not mistaken many states have a year round pig hunt season with no bag limits.

sheep_herder ★ Posted October 12, 2021 Share #4 Posted October 12, 2021 Those Arkansas Razorbacks have also been playing hell with some of the Texas teams. On a more serious note, Montana has been watching closely for invasions from Canada. 1

Parr8hed Posted October 12, 2021 Share #9 Posted October 12, 2021 Horrible on farm land here. I know in Texas people shoot them from helicopters. You can charter a chopper and shoot as many as you want.

Even the Rangers at the Scout Camps around here will let you come shoot if they know and trust you.

Zephyr Posted October 12, 2021 Share #21 Posted October 12, 2021 My daughter had the same standing orders when working cattle ranches in Australia. They also shot wild camels there too as they were causing havoc to ranch land. No pigs on her farm land in Canada (yet)

shootingstar Posted October 12, 2021 Author Share #23 Posted October 12, 2021 I think domestic animals that get feral, but "safer" for people (maybe their urine etc. isn't good if they dominate?)...would be chickens and roosters we saw running around loose in Hawai'i.
