Center of the Universe makes good beers but they are closer to Richmond than Washington. Owl have to look for bike rides near there and check them oot.

Hey, are there any good ones near Harpers Ferry?  We are planning, perhaps  unwisely, to brave the fall crowds there in a couple of weeks.

Good question! Not sure what the WV "scene" is with breweries.  I tend to find Shepherdstown better than Harpers Ferry for most things not tourist related (but hikes are fun by HF, too).  Right across the river is both VA and MD, and I know we have the "good stuff" relatively near there, and probably MD as well.  Just south/southeast of HF is a whole slew of VA wineries, vineyards, breweries, and distilleries.  But those are car (or bike) rides away.

Yes, but not in Harpers Ferry proper. Across the river in VA is Harper’s Ferry brewing. They have good views and brews. This is the view north from VA into MD. Harper’s Ferry is upriver by about a mile.

Nearby are several very good places near Mount Weather. Bear Chase brewing, B-Chord brewing, and Dirt Farm brewing. B-Chord doesn’t have the panoramic views that the other two do, but they have live music that’s entertaining.

Mmm, sounds good!  Thanks, owl check them oot.  Didn't someone post a picture of a mountaintop brewery here a few months ago?
