Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted October 16, 2021 Share #3 Posted October 16, 2021 I think you've got this figured out. Put a Ninja in the side car and nobody dares to pass you!

maddmaxx ★ Posted October 16, 2021 Share #6 Posted October 16, 2021 If most American road courses run counter clockwise why is your sidecar on the left side?
donkpow Posted October 16, 2021 Share #7 Posted October 16, 2021 I just noticed some sidecars are on the left, some on the right. Is there something significant in the decision to build to the left or right?

Is there something significant in the decision to build to the left or right? F-1 and F-2 AKA modern sidecars are all left hand chair on vintage it's personal preference. Before I built my sidecar I looked at every track and counted every left and right hand turns and a majority of the race tracks run clockwise with just a few that run counterclockwise. Most of the sidecars that we race against came from the United Kingdom and majority of them are right hand chair. We are the only team racing in the AHRMA series that built our own sidecar from scratch. When you think about how crazy I was to do this I never raced or driven or even monkey on a sidecar but I built one from scratch and went racing. When I decided to do this I went on line and asked what rake and trail are people running, wheelbase, 3rd wheel offset and what handling issues they have. I had six sidecar racers responded and I took this information and started doing the math and came up with the geometry that we are running. 1
Ralphie ★ Posted October 16, 2021 Share #10 Posted October 16, 2021 I like that we are all becoming vintage sidecar racing experts enthusiasts. Fits the forum's different drummer zeitgesit.
