Road Runner Posted October 18, 2021 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2021 I haven't needed a blanket here in SE VA since last winter. But tonight, lows in the upper 40's. Probably should opt for the warmer comforter... 2

Bikeguy Posted October 18, 2021 Share #4 Posted October 18, 2021 Yeah the temp in our home is already down to 62. Last night it was on the low 40s here. Tonight it will be close to 40. Soon... WoBG and I will have the annual discussion about when the heat should be turned on.
Airehead Posted October 18, 2021 Share #5 Posted October 18, 2021 Einstein is not supposed to get chilled. Heat is on but set at 62. Not sure if it will run in the wee hours or night.
bikeman564™ Posted October 18, 2021 Share #6 Posted October 18, 2021 I turned on the furnace this weekend for the first time because night time temps are in 50s. Normally I have it on already but October so far had 13 days of 70°.
MickinMD ★ Posted October 18, 2021 Share #7 Posted October 18, 2021 I fell asleep on the recliner watching Monday Nite Football. Woke up 7:30 am with the thermostat - still "Off" - reading 68° after getting up to 77° with the sun streaming through the open blinds yesterday. So I turned the turned the thermostat to "Heat" and, for the first time left it there, set at 76° - several times, beginning the end of September I've turned it on for 15 minutes just to take the overnight "chill" (73° or 74°) off. Then I remember I forgot to put the garbage out for collection, looked out the window and saw the neighbors' trash uncollected, so I put mine out - wearing sandals, shorts, and a tee shirt. It was 51° - I moved fast! So now the furnace has been on for 20 minutes and the thermostat says it's 73° - which is where I normally keep it in the winter when I'm acclimated to colder weather. Today's supposed to be cooler all day and maybe good for yard work in the afternoon. If not we've got 4 days forecast to reach the 70's Tues-Fri. Road Runner Posted October 18, 2021 Author Share #8 Posted October 18, 2021 It's 49F outside and 68F in the house this morning. I'm not even close to turning on any heat. However, I am wearing long pants and a lightweight hoodie.
