Popular Post maddmaxx ★ Posted October 20, 2021 Popular Post Share #1 Posted October 20, 2021 Testing today on what will be one of next years cars. There is a new class in the area for lower performance cars that can be raced just for fun without as much investment or breakage. It will be called the gasser class, named after the old time NHRA gas class. There are few rules other than running a stock Traxxas Titan 12 brushed motor, the same one that comes in all the backyard cars made by Traxxas. The cars are encouraged to look a bit like the old gassers and hotrods as opposed to the slammed down anteater nose on the ground pro mods we run at the higher speeds. I took the old super stock chassis and re-motored it and was testing this morning. It's already competitive and now I have to wait till the budget allows for a new body. I'm thinking a scale replica if I can manage it. The body is not available for sale yet but it's on the way. These are relatively low cost low performance RC drag cars and the difference in ET will be minimal from driver to driver so they should be fun to race. They are so underpowered that one doesn't have to bother with a burnout. 3

maddmaxx ★ Posted October 20, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted October 20, 2021 Just now, MoseySusan said: How fun! When do you start your build? The car is basically done already. I just took one of my already tested and refined superstock cars and put the weak engine/throttle system into it. I tested it this morning with the old blue Falcon body. I probably won't be able to get the new mustang body for a couple of months. It's in the pipeline so let's get those ships unloaded.
maddmaxx ★ Posted October 20, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted October 20, 2021 And the throttle system for the car which left North Carolina this morning has been flagged with an alert delay for emergency circumstances as was another package coming from the same place. I hope the truck just broke down and wasn't in a crash.
