Why isn't there a nationwide covid vaccination app?

New York state has an app, NYC has its own app, NJ has it's own, too.  

Why hasn't this been simplified so that one app can do the the job in the whole country?

It should be global.  My app does nothing outside Ontario. 

That said, to attend the NBAA conference in Las Vegas, I had to register on an app called "Clear".  It was national but it may just be event based.

Pennsylvania has one. 
 

It may be as simple as some states don’t want to contribute data.

Parts of the whole country don't want an ap.

The EU has a pass and an app.  While it was rolling out, we had to show our US vaccine cards, but they've seemed to have figured out how to incorporate non-EU folks too.
