Waiting for more information.  There is already too much guesswork and assumptions being made on the interwebs.

The TV stations here are not saying anything new they keep playing the same thing over and over again.

Oy.  Another article.

Quote

He has a long rap sheet and a number of pending cases. Brooks’ most recent court appearance came on Nov. 5 for charges including reckless endangerment, battery, domestic abuse, resisting arrest and bail jumping. He was out on $1,000 bail for those charges at the time of the attack.

Out on bail for $1,000 for charges which include jumping bail???

There are people out there trying to fit square pegs into round holes damn the torpedoes full speed ahead.  We just don't have enough confirmed information to make any rational decision.

Decision about what? The guy drove his SUV into people marching in a parade. What’s there to decide?

Was a gun held to his head?  Was he in some kind of mental breakdown?  What was going on?

Surely having some idea of who, what, where, when, how, and why answered is always a smart step?  We know where, what, & when, but the who, how, and why are not fully clear yet.  I think they have the guy (who), and, if it is that guy, the how portion (out on bail? in his vehicle? on a whim/planned? etc) comes into focus, and the why remains unknown (but may come out during questioning or other investigating).

IOW - we can create a narrative to fit Maxx's square pegs into round holes, or we can let the investigators do their thing.  The first half of the story is pretty damning, and hopefully the other half helps us sort out how to properly punish the person and prevent future similar things from happening.

The Why.  There are lots of wild stories about why.

The latest reports state that the police have no reason to suspect terrorism and no reason to suspect that the act was related to the Rittenhouse trial result.  It is presently assumed that this guy was running from a domestic disturbance which he left just before the police arrived.  He has multiple charges and trials pending from previous criminal activity.  There are no socially redeeming values here and the state is now responsible for examining it's bail system to explain why this guy was out of jail.

Got it. I misunderstood that we were discussing what had happened.

Unfortunately, those factions with an agenda have already tried to stuff this act into the slot that they want it to be in.  You can find those articles on the web yourself.  Most of them are followed by comments that are heinous.

Better than $1000!  How was that even possible?

“Bail Reform”. There has been a huge push to fund campaigns for DAs that are very soft on theft, domestic abuse and other violent crimes. Yet they overcharge innocent people who exercise self defense. It’s catching up to us.

We had an incident a while back. Bad man, on drugs, stabs his father. Steals his dad's truck and crashes it. Steals a police car and proceeds like a bat out of hell into the downtown area. Kills two little children down by the library when he crashes the cruiser. In jail waiting for his trial.

He died last week in prison from apparently ingesting an unknown substance.

One of the most amazing things about this story is that after leaving the carnage, he apparently stops at someone's house, rings the doorbell and asks to use the phone to check where his uber is, saying that he's homeless.  Waukesha must have some very nice people in town, because the guy let him in to use the phone. He also gave him some food and a jacket. He eventually asked him to leave after seeing the police on the street.  I'm glad things didn't end baclly for the guy.

I find that the places that I travel to 98% of are nice and will help you out.

Placement of unknown substance is not under investigation.  No one cares.
