Airehead Posted November 28, 2021 Share #1 Posted November 28, 2021 Yes and it must be done between 6:55 and 7 each Sunday evening. Einstein is very regimented in his scheduling. 2 1

MoseySusan Posted November 29, 2021 Share #5 Posted November 29, 2021 My dad winds two antique clocks (one mantle and one schoolhouse) on Saturday night. He used to wind a schoolhouse clock at my grandma’s on Sunday at 1:00. He has a grandfather clock, but stopped it because it chimed too much.
Allen ★ Posted November 29, 2021 Share #6 Posted November 29, 2021 I have a cuckoo clock that needs the weights pulled once a week. And I have some mechanical watches that need winding and setting when I wear them.
Prophet Zacharia Posted November 29, 2021 Share #7 Posted November 29, 2021 No. I only have two or three that need to be manually reset with DST, but they’re all digital.
Zephyr Posted November 29, 2021 Share #8 Posted November 29, 2021 I have my great great grandfathers pocket watch. It works when I wind it, but I don't wind it every day
Longjohn ★ Posted November 29, 2021 Share #9 Posted November 29, 2021 I have a Russian wristwatch that has to be wound if I want to wear it. I have never worn it. My father in law bought it for me when he was a missionary in Siberia.
ChrisL Posted November 29, 2021 Share #10 Posted November 29, 2021 Not currently. I grew up with a cuckoo clock in the house & remember my dad winding it every night before going to bed. I can still hear the zzzzzzz sound.

TrentonMakes Posted November 29, 2021 Share #15 Posted November 29, 2021 The only timepiece I have that requires winding is my old Snoopy wristwatch, that I probably got when I was 5. Not my photo but that's what it looks like.
JerrySTL ★ Posted November 29, 2021 Share #16 Posted November 29, 2021 Yes. I have 10 clocks that wind but usually only keep 2 running. Every once-in-a-while I wind them all up. When they all start chiming at the same time, it sounds like the beginning of the Pink Floyd song Money. My brother is a clock nut and has over 50 clocks on display. He also keeps just a few running.
Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted November 30, 2021 Share #17 Posted November 30, 2021 I have an alarm clock that sometimes winds itself up, and its alarm goes off at 5am. 1
