A lot of them in this area have the hex signs, said to have originated with the Pennsylvania Dutch (Amish) just over the border from Maryland, to protect the barn and its animals from fire, disease, etc. This picture is in Kinder Farm Park, between Baltimore and Annapolis, where the Kinder family donated the whole place to the County and part of it is now a working, demonstration farm run mostly by 4H-Club teenagers. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
